Nicholas(Nick)was born in New Bandon,NB. In June 1942 he left for war. He was recruited in Toronto and was in service until March 1946. He was a private in the Canadian Infantry and he served for the United Kingdom, Continental Europe and Canada. He participated in battles in Germany, Italy ,France, Holland and Scotland. He received 5 medals while in service. In August 1944, when he was in Germany, he was buried alive by an explosion. He survived but was left with pieces of shell fragments near his heart. He passed away in 1998 at the age of 80 from cancer.
