John was born in Stonehaven, NB in 1910. He served with the Carleton and York Regiment, the N.B. Rangers, the Black Watch, and the Victoria Rifles of Canada in England, France, Holland, Belgium, Italy, and Germany. John was awarded the War Medal 1939-45, the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal with Clasp, the Italy Star, and the France and Germany Star. His older brothers, Otis and Clinton, served in WWI. John passed away in 1964.
