Avard was born in Saint John, NB in 1898. He served in the Army with the 104th Battalion and was transferred to the 26th Battalion. He served in France. Avard was a Life Member of the R.C.L. Bayview Branch No. 22. He was a member of the Legion for 53 years before he died in 1979.
