Wall of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning; We will remember them. These famous words come from the famous poem, For the Fallen, by Robert Laurence Binyon.

Melvin was born in Pennfield, N.B. in 1924. He enlisted in 1943, served in the North Shore Regiment in England, France, Germany, Holland, and Belgium, and was discharged in 1946. Melvin received the 1939-1945 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the C.V.S.M. and clasp. He was a member of R.C.L. St. George Br. #40 and Blacks Harbour Br. #39 for 13 years. Melvin passed away in 2005.
