Wall of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning; We will remember them. These famous words come from the famous poem, For the Fallen, by Robert Laurence Binyon.

His name was Leo Pitre ,he was born in 1920and he was one of 8 children. When he was 21 years old he joined the army,he was part of the ROYAL RIFLE OF CANADA.He was sent over the sea to fight the battle of Hong Kong,but they where captured as soon as they arrived there. They then became a prisoner of war for 4 years in that time they suffered a lot. When the war ended in 1945 he came home. Later he met his wife and got married and had a family, my grandfather was one of 5 kids. Leo Pitre will always be my hero.
