Wall of Remembrance

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning; We will remember them. These famous words come from the famous poem, For the Fallen, by Robert Laurence Binyon.

John was born in Elgin, Albert Co., N.B. in 1920. He was the brother of Russell Weldon Steeves. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in England. John was killed in action when his plane was shot down in Scotland. John rests in the Dyce Old Churchyard in Aberdeenshire, U.K.
